The Oncological Pathology and Bioinformatics group (PO&B) is an interdisciplinary research team at the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (IISPV), based at the Tortosa Virgen de la Cinta University Hospital (HUTVC), with over 20 years of experience dedicated to studying the immune response in breast cancer.

Our research integrates digital pathology, immune biomarkers, and advanced computational models to analyze the tumor microenvironment and develop tools to support clinical diagnosis and prognosis. We work with clinical data, histopathological images, genomic data, and artificial intelligence techniques to transform complex information into clinically relevant knowledge, taking a multimodal approach.

PO&B is a highly interdisciplinary group bringing together clinical and biomedical professionals, computational scientists, and specialized technical staff. Led by Dr. Marylène Lejeune and Dr. Carlos López, the group actively participates in competitive projects and national and European collaborations, with a strong commitment to innovation, training, and the real impact of oncological research.
